Frequently asked questions
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Reading is free: every transcript and summary already on the site opens without an account. A new account gets 10 credits for new videos (up to 10 minutes long) and 1 hour of uploads a month. One account can only pull in so many new videos an hour, which stops bulk scraping; normal use never gets near it.
What does each thing cost?
1 credit for a video whose captions already exist, 1 credit per minute of speech-to-text (videos without captions, and your own files), 1 credit for a summary, 2 credits for a mind map, 2 credits for a flashcard set and 1 credit per question. Opening anything already generated, by you or anyone else, is free. Plan credits last until the end of the period they come with; pack credits never expire.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel from Account → Billing whenever you like. The plan stops renewing, the time you have paid for stays usable to the end, credits included, and everything you generated stays in your workspace.
Can I get a refund?
Within 7 days of a payment, refunded in proportion to the credits from it you have not used. A refund closes the account, so if you only want to stop paying, cancel the plan instead. Write to support@summarizer.video from your account email. The Refund Policy has the details.
Which platforms work?
YouTube, TikTok and Instagram links, links to video or audio files, and your own files. Videos with captions — most of YouTube, most TikToks — are read from their captions at a flat rate. TikToks without captions, Instagram, media links and uploads go through speech-to-text on every account, billed per minute. Caption-less YouTube videos use it too, on any paid plan.
Can I upload my own files?
Yes, on every account — mp4, mov, mp3 or wav up to 100 MB, from the Upload tab on the home page. Free takes files up to 10 minutes, 1 hour a month; Pro 10 hours, Studio 50, Max 150. A file always goes through speech-to-text, at 1 credit per minute of audio. The file is kept so it plays beside its transcript, and you can delete it from its page at any time.
